Ascent Continues to Operate Remotely

Hello, Clients and Friends of Ascent:

First and foremost we hope all of you continue to stay physically and mentally healthy during this global pandemic crisis our Nation and the World try to overcome.

It is hard to believe that 10 days have passed since Ascent first made the decision to work remotely for the health and safety of our team members and the many visitors that typically stop into our offices on a day to day basis.  Our remote operations have worked successfully and we hope that you are not experiencing any challenges in reaching us via email or our personal cell phones.  Please remember that if you have a time-sensitive request or question and can’t reach your primary advisor do not hesitate to reach out to another Ascent team member.  Given the current state of the pandemic and the ongoing contagion, Ascent will continue to comply with Governor Brown’s order and work remotely until the order has been lifted and a safe work environment can be resumed.

It’s been an incredible two weeks in both the markets and the economy with record market declines followed by the largest single-day increase for the DOW since 1933. We have seen historic action by the Fed in its effort to provide support and liquidity for the markets followed by the passing of the $2 Trillion Coronavirus Stimulus bill which was literally created and passed within 10 days.  Clearly the lesson from 2008-2009 was to come in fast and big with supportive policy.  History shows that there has always been a recovery from economic and health crisis, natural disasters and terrorism and markets have recovered to new all-time highs.  We obviously cannot promise the same for this current crisis but we take great faith in the power of humanity to survive, rebuild, and come out the better for it.
